All premieres are special, but this one was extra special. A huge thank you to Francisco Núñez for his guidance as we workshopped the piece, for selecting me as the composer of this commission from Music Academy of the West, and for trusting me with this project. I am grateful to the teams at the Young People's Chorus of New York City and YPC National, the chorus members, and musicians who were vital to bringing the piece to life. I hope anyone who hears this music is reminded of how unique and precious our planet is and how we can do small things to help take care of the Earth 🩵
